NPT and J.P. Morgan Open DAF Giving Path to Trump Accounts
National Philanthropic Trust and J.P. Morgan have created a mechanism allowing donor-advised fund assets to fund children's Trump Accounts.
National Philanthropic Trust (NPT), one of the largest public charities in the United States and a prominent independent donor-advised fund (DAF) sponsor, has partnered with J.P. Morgan to establish a new channel that allows charitable assets held in DAFs to make qualified contributions to Trump Accounts — a federally designated children's investment account program.
The arrangement marks a notable expansion in how DAF holders can deploy philanthropic dollars, extending the reach of charitable giving beyond traditional nonprofit grants and into government-backed savings vehicles for minors. The partnership was announced from Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, where NPT is headquartered.

DAFs have long been a popular vehicle for donors seeking flexibility in charitable planning, allowing contributors to make irrevocable charitable donations, receive an immediate tax deduction, and recommend grants over time. The new pathway with J.P. Morgan adds Trump Accounts — a relatively new category of qualified children's investment accounts — as an eligible destination for those recommended grants.
The collaboration underscores growing institutional interest in linking philanthropic infrastructure with emerging government-backed financial programs aimed at building long-term wealth for younger generations. By enabling DAF assets to flow into these accounts, NPT and J.P. Morgan are broadening both the utility of donor-advised funds and the funding sources available to support children's financial futures.
