PRA Group, Inc., a Norfolk, Virginia-based company that acquires and collects nonperforming loans, commemorated its 30th anniversary Monday by ringing the Nasdaq Stock Market Opening Bell at Times Square in New York City.
The milestone ceremony underscored the company's long tenure in the debt-purchasing industry, a sector that buys consumer loan portfolios from banks and other creditors at a discount and then works to recover balances from borrowers. PRA Group trades on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol PRAA.
