Trive Capital Sells EarthLink to Family Office Consortium
Dallas-based Trive Capital has completed the sale of EarthLink, LLC to a consortium including WaveDivision Capital, The Pritzker Organization, and Stephens.
Trive Capital, the Dallas-based private equity firm, has closed on the sale of internet service provider EarthLink, LLC to a consortium of family offices, the firm announced Oct. 20, 2026. The buyers include WaveDivision Capital, The Pritzker Organization, and Stephens, marking a significant ownership transition for one of the country's legacy broadband and connectivity brands.
The deal represents an exit for Trive Capital, which had previously acquired and repositioned EarthLink as part of its broader strategy of investing in technology-enabled service businesses. The involvement of multiple family office-aligned investors signals sustained institutional interest in established internet infrastructure assets, even as competition in the broadband sector intensifies.

The combination of these three groups brings both sector-specific operating experience and long-term capital to EarthLink's next chapter.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The closing of the deal was confirmed by Trive Capital through a formal announcement, though no details regarding EarthLink's revenue, subscriber base, or post-acquisition strategic plans were provided at this time. EarthLink has historically served residential and small business customers across the United States with internet access and related services.
